ELD Electronic Leak detection non-destructive testing is used to identify water entry pathways and areas of entrapped water within a roof construction. The failed roof areas are then clearly marked on the roof so that a schedule of remedial works can take
Roofing Consultants Ltd use electronic leak detection testing to identify defects in waterproofing membranes. This technique of roof leak detection works on the principal that the structural roof deck is an electrical conductor and the waterproofing membrane is an electrical insulator. By moving the Electronic Leak Detection equipment over the test area our surveyor can pinpoint areas of entrapped water/moisture, pinholes in the material and damaged/defective welded laps.
All defective areas found during our roof survey are marked on the roof area and recorded on our roof plan which will be supplied with our technical roof survey report. Whilst carrying out this survey a full lap test can be completed to find any exposed areas that may allow potential water ingress.
